Chromaggus & Hourglass Sand.

My guild had yesterday its first tries on Chromaggus.

We supplied, before each try, the mt with 3 hourglass sands, hunters and priests with 4 each.

As you can imagine, we used a hell of a lot of hourglass sand (about 40 pieces per try), and now we are only left with 30 pieces.

Since the average drop of hourglass sand is 20pieces / raid, we obviously did something wrong, because as we are doing it now, we will have enough amounts of sand again after 2 weeks of BWL raiding, lol.

How should we distribute and use the hourglass sands? And what amount do you people need per try on Chrommy?
Is there a way to fight chrommy without hourglass sand?

While learning the encounter, it can be quite helpful to have sand on the healers, tanks and hunters. Maybe 4-5 each.

As some people in this thread already have said though, as your guild progress further, you don't need that much sand. So if you have run out, you could try asking the high end guilds on the server if they have any they can give you, since they are most likely not using it.
