The old berserker rage, blood rage and death wish used the same animation as the current /roar emote, and I think it felt a lot more "angry" (Just like a warrior should be!). Watching Laintime (old school korea pvp player, don't know if he's still around) pop berserker rage made me go undead warrior. Why was it removed? I can't believe anyone was unhappy with it. The only reason I can come up with is that back then the animation was a bit buggy - sometimes it looked like it currently does - hardly a reason to permanently bug it though!
Whirlwind almost never gets a decent animation these days. While moving, the character rarely even starts spinning. Only that red whirl thing (which is kind of cool!). Back in the days, a whirl could consist of 2-3 spins, that looked awesome, and it actually felt like you where whirling, now it's just "press a button - deal damage to some mobs/players around you". Nothing aesthetic about it.
For reference, if you weren't around to see these animations, check out the following videos:
Laintime - just check the blood rage at 0:05! Wow.
