Levelling up a mage since TBC (31 atm not 26) and really quite enjoying it.
I've always liked the idea of being a frost mage but took the advise I was given that it's better to level, at least in the early stages, as fire. I was all set to switch at 30 until I realised I get a new level pyro and Fireball, but don't get a new Frostbolt until 32 so decided to wait for 2 levels.
I'm looking at the shatter talent and loving the look of it, but pyro and fireball seem to have much higher damage than frostbolt and I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if it's worth switching to frost at 32. I don't mind a slight reduction in damage but will I be gimping myself? If 32 is too early, when is a better time to switch to frost?
