Underlined part is Tseric.

Wait, what? No return on threat multipliers or at least something to compensate?

Everybody wants 'compensation' for a nerf. Not reason enough to treat it that way.[/quote

Q u o t e:
[quote]if these changes are intended to fix pvp issues, why did they break pve tanking?

Who said this was purely a PVP or PVE change?

Further, Tseric goes on to suggest that this is intended -- not as a minor tweak -- but to generally remove bear tanks as a rule, as a viable tank option.

Pallys and Druids are intended to and are able to fill tanking roles. Does that mean they're going to main tank every dungeon? No, because encounters are varied enough that certain classes abilities will simply match the situation better or maybe you don't even require a main tank, but several off-tanks.

Your assertion that druids tanking being removed or eliminated is not something we agree with. The ease with which it was occurring prior to this patch is the issue. It was too easy and it was obvious. If it really comes down to Druids not being able to generate enough threat to even tank a five-person dungeon, then I'm sure the devs will make changes to bring them back into play as filling tank roles.)

Here is what we learned:
1) We can't get a concrete response on the point about this being a PvP change, PvE change or something between the two.
2) Don't get your hopes up about the nerf being reconsidered in any way, even in a future patch

Hmm? I think that's a more rhetoric summary of what was said.

What Tseric says is that druids are meant to be viable tanks, but not in every given situation. If it turns out however that it's difficult to generate enough threat to tank effectively, then we will look into it to ensure that druids can continue to fill the role of a tank.

Druids will be A LOT LESS ANXIOUS if we know these changes will take place *before* the patch goes through.

Yes, I can totally understand this. But this is also the reason we have a PTR, to try out how it works – the PTR patch notes have been updated several times.
