Emerald Dream and Mount Hyjal

At one time, when the Green Dragons appeared, there was lots of talk about entering the Emerald Dream. Then shortly after the release of that patch, there was nothing, not a peep...

When will we be seeing the Green Dream?

What about Mount Hyjal, from past unconfirmed and unreleased screenshots, this zone/instance appears to be fully complete. When, if at all, will we see this content?

According to the Lore, there was an Epic Battle here, will we be able to protect the Eternal Well from Scourge and the Burning Legion... Does the Cavern of Time or Nozdormu have any answers???

People will be able to relive the battle for Mount Hyjal by entering into the Caverns of Time, yes. :)

As for the Emerald Dream, there are no plans for anything as of yet but it is a consideration for the future. The Emerald Dream opens up a lot of different opportunities and the Burning Crusade is definitely not going to be the last of the expansion packs. There are many different places and storylines that can be pursued. The story is going to keep growing and as it does so, people will get to experience it.

Here's my theory....

Original devs (remember them??) were hardcore Warcraft people. They were the people who built the world as we know it. Many of them could tell you volumes more on the lore of WC than they could about their own RL children.

Those devs got phased out and the "EQ guys" got brought in. This was in time for the last phases of beta and going live.

Correction for you. Those devs were not phased out nor are they gone. They are still here. I would hate to see their work being discarded because there is a belief they aren't still in the trenches in some way , shape or form.

What exactly does that mean anyway? On the beta forum (the WoW forum during closed beta) some designer was telling us they were working on the Emerald Dream and it was a gorgeous zone and we would love it. That was about 2 years ago. I guess it's been scrapped?

No, not scrapped. There have just been a lot of other things that have stepped to the forefront for now. "No plans at current" does not translate to "not going to happen". It just means there is a focus on some other work currently. It's the nature of of MMO development to adapt to new ideas and at times, revisit other ideas at another point in time when it's felt that it is the right time and setting to make an even more impactful design.
