This would be one of the first things the devs would likely consider.
While we've wanted to blur lines and share responsibilities of the 'Holy Trinity', a class that was primarily a support/utility class would be a challenge without having something in terms of dps/healing/tanking. To then make it distinct from our current classes, without copy/pasting abilities would be a further consideration.
Not saying it isn't possible, but the fit for this particular game would have to be made carefully, as a 'pure' support class would be group-dependant.
While some classes in game have different or larger value in a group, they still maintain an independence in the overall class structure.
