Nerf Warlocks FAQ 1.2

Since every other post on the forums now are about nerfing 'locks, and you will only be banned from the forums and get sarcastic answers, here are the answers for you in advance.

N00b: oMg OMg!! nerf lockszz!

Warlock: What? What do you mean? What do you want nerfed? Please be more specific.

N: Nerf FEAR!!! Remove it, we can't beat locks!!

W: Kk, so you want fear nerfed or removed? Sure, remove Fear. But also remove Paladins bubble, Rogues vanish, Mage's blink, Hunters traps and so on. All classes have their pro's and con's. Warlocks
just happens to be fear, if fear is removed, something else have to be given to us instead.

N: But you have both Fear and Death Coil, nerf nerf nerf!

W: Yes, we do, every 2 mins we have an extra 3 sec horror effect. If that effect is the only thing that make you lose against Warlocks then try to change your playstyle a bit. Learn how the Warlock class works and use it against us.

N: but u overpowered locks just chainfear me and dot me until i die.

W: Not really, there is something called diminishing returns.

First time we fear a player (this don't apply to NPC's) the fear's duration will be 100%, up to 20 seconds. I writing "up to" because it's not very often the fear holds that long anyway, Fear will break on most Direct Damage. However continous DoT's will have a lesser chance to break it. Second time, the duration of Fear is reduced by 50%, and third time by 75%, then you are immune to it, learn this and you will know we can't chain fear you over and over again.

N: No, maybe, but then you just pop out your Succubus and chain seduce instead, nerf nerf nerf!

W: no, Seduce and Fear share the same diminishing returns. Not to mention that if we're Fearing you most of the time we're also DoT'ing you. If you Seduce while DoT'ed then at the first tick Seduce breaks.

N: But it's so hard to kill you!!!!

W: Yes, it might be, but only in 1v1 encounters as in Duels. Who said this game should be easy? It's also hard for us to kill you. Warlocks have more spells than any other class, and must know when to use the right one. Same for you, a Rogue trying to kill a Warlock must time his/hers stuns and kicks right for example.

N: Blah, you just kill everyone with your IMBA dots, nerf!

W: Not really, i believe Holy Priest's are the absolute hardest class for us to take down, I myself have never managed to do it. Usually when I nuked the priest and have no more mana left, the priest heals up to 100% hp and owns me.

Maybe it's just me having this problem, but I dont run around the forums screaming "NERF Priests HEAL!!!" I have to learn to take my enemy down in the right way.

N: Nerf warlocks anyway!!

W: cya! IBTL..

Summary:

Yes, Warlocks have great powers in some situations, and in other's, we dont. In 1v1, we often have advantages and we usually win against certain classes. Mages and Druids for example, because of that, it may seem that we are overpowered.

But we only use cloth with very small amounts of armor, which both Stunlocking Rogues and Fury Warriors tear through. One reason we often beat people is also because we have to fight them. Many other classes have escape abilities and can get away from a fight, not to mention that most PVP Trinkets and certain Racials will counter our Primary CC ability. Warlocks have to stay and do their best.

Classes in WOW are pretty balanced, but it's not based on 1v1 encounters.

Edit: Fixed some spacing
