What most people fail to realize is that most raids/encounters are contingent upon ~ 25% of the players to do their job extremely effectively. (1 person for 5 man / 5 people for 20 man raid / 10 people for 40s). The one cavaet to this truth is that while it only takes 25% to make the encounter a success, it only takes 1 person to ruin it and make it a failure.
I believe it is too much to expect the majority of players to be in the "extremely effective" group, but not too much to expect everyone be outside of the "ruin" level. And that to me, is the Lament of the Raid Leader.
