Dungeon Difficulty Setting?

I don't know if this has been there awhile and I've just noticed or it's something new, but when I right-click on my portrait in the upper left corner, I get an otion to select "Dungeon Difficulty" and the options are "Normal" and "Heroic" I've searched for information on this function and have failed miserably. Can anyone enlighten me please?

The Heroic setting is applied to the 5-person dungeons in Outland. Heroic setting will basically increase the level of mobs in the dungeon and provide different loot tables with larger rewards.
