Totem Poles as weapons

I noticed that there is a Tauren that charges the battle just through the dark portal with a large totem pole. These weapons have been a part of the Tauren for quite a while, but I have never seen on in game (being used) before.

Is there any hope of a player acquired weapon like that anytime soon?

Very possible, and very cool idea. Nothing concrete planned at the moment, however.
