Ask the Devs- how this should've worked

Create categories (PVP, Class, Mounts, Raids, etc etc). Allow this posts to be searchable within the thread only (meaning, if I search for "Why does Blizz hate rogues" the search would only be confined to the thread). Give us more than 2 hours to respond. Then you can just see which categories and subcategories are getting the most hits and narrow down from there. Surveys are wonderful things when used correctly.

So thousands of people are now going to read and vote on every question in a 26 page thread? Hmm.. more like, thousands of people are going to go in and not read every post, just vote for every post.

You get an A for effort but that's about it. The questions we have for devs are here every day so basically what I get from this 'ask the devs' thing is "We don't really read all those posts so here's your one chance to maybe get a response from us *if* you can post and *if* enough people read and vote for your post."

We understand that you can't answer every single post on these forums but this is not a good solution. Anyone just browsing through the forums will see that a lot of the same questions/issues get posted multiple times and in most cases it's because we don't get a reply. Why not just take some time to browse yourselves and answer some of those questions?

It's not a one time thing. We hope to make this a weekly series, time permitting. We can count the votes fairly easily. Considering how fast questions were coming in having it lock at 500 posts was actually a blessing. Pretty unlikely people would have read through 200+ pages of questions to see if theirs was asked already, let alone vote on them. It's already going to be pretty front-loaded with votes at 26 pages.

Feedback is welcome but saying it's worthless to continue with them because it takes the answers out of other threads isn't correct, and not really helpful feedback. We'll continue to read threads and continue to answer them, this is just one more way to get information.
