Pre-shielding

Why is this so looked down on?

I mean, on trash it might be silly, but on boss fights I think it would be better.

Shield, wait for mana to fill again, then the tank goes to do his job. If the DPS waits for 3 more seconds (probably the length of time the shield is up)this method will create more of a gap between tank to healer aggro.

Of course this method depends on relying on DPS to be patient... which sometimes is hard for them to do.

This has been my experience as well. I don't pre-shield unless asked since some people may want that shield to start off the fight with.
