New Realms, a solution

What we want
New Realms, to reroll and have a fun "race" to 70, chance to form nice guilds, make new friends, have a good server economy to start with and trying to be servers first in things.
This is not possible on the servers that are recommended now.
NOTE: the last new servers came out 7 months ago, when TBC came out. some people are waiting several months for a new server now!

Why Blizzard doesnt want this.
A lot of old Realms are underpopulated, Blizzard will release new realms when these are "full".

Why we dont reroll on these "old underpopulated realms"
We have to start in a mature server, overpriced AH, no people to group with while leveling, and no chance to join a good guild.

The solution
Merge "the old underpopulated realms" so these become full servers, open 1 new realms per servertype and wait for these to fill.

Why should Blizzard do this
A lot of people coming new to the game are going for the "recommended" realms, on these realms, there are no low lvl guilds, no people to group with, and the items are overpriced. This discourages the new people to keep playing so they will cancel their subscription and leave the game.
A lot of people that were already playing this game for long time, including me, want to have a fresh start on a new server becos were bored of our old chars, a new server hasnt happened in 7 months time and a lot people cancelled their subscription and stopped playing wow or are still waiting for a new server.

Blizzard this will keep your current customers playing, and will encourage your new customers to keep playing this game. Isnt this what you want?

Thnx for reading this and if you post something, post something constructive, this isnt meant to be a /sign thread.

We can of course understand that novelty feeling of playing on a new realm and we recognize that being the first to reach 70 etc. is a charming thought indeed, but it is not a factor that we can or will take into consideration when evaluating the need for opening a new realm.

This is somewhat correct. We open new realms when there as a need for it, meaning when the population on current realms is sufficient.

This argument has been presented before in previous similar threads, and this was the solution that players came up with:

Unfortunately this is not a valid solution, mainly due to the fact that Low, Medium and High are relative realm population tags. They indicate the current population on the realm compared to all other realms. They do not represent absolute numbers, thus theoretically even a Low population realm can experience queues.

This has been mentioned in the FAQ as well:

A quite subjective breakdown of the situation I would say, but we do understand the point you are trying to make, which is that you would really like to play on a fresh realm.

Right now, unfortunately, I can do little else than repeating that new realms will be opened when there is an actual need for them: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=10701147&sid=1

If the wait for a new realm seems unbearable, then it might be a good idea to re-read this thread, which should be of help to you and those others who feel the immediate need for a fresh start: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=292059982&sid=1

What we want is realms with a healthy population, and frequent openings of new realms is quite counter-productive to that goal. We aim for a thriving population on all realms, adjusting this with migration and the Recommended tags. As long as the majority of the fairly new realms of a given type has the Recommended tag we generally do not consider opening new realms of the type.

Opening new realms is not based on whether we expect a new realm to fill up quickly, i.e. "popular request" is not considered a main argument for opening new realms.
Additionally, the argument of "ganking" making older PvP realms being unsuitable for starting new characters is not weighted heavily. This is the nature of any realm with a PvP ruleset, including any "fresh" realm within a month. If this was to be a factor in considering new realms we would need to open PvP realms every month resulting in a large number of very empty realms. And opening new realms then merging low populated ones in a never-ending cycle is not considered a good solution to a problem that can be avoided altogether.
