Blizzcon'07: More damage to healers?

First of all, this topic is not related to PvP. It is purely PvE oriented, although it may, in some cases, impact on PvP as well.

Right now, healers have a real bad time while doing simple quests of killing mobs by making them tired.

I understand game mechanics do make healers not supposed to do a, lets say, decent DPS and they should live 'as is', but even doing a bit of damage against mobs to make daily quests not that boring.

I also understand all healing classes has both a healing and a damage tree, whereas his/her talents can be distributed in both damage and healing, but by doing this, healers lose important talents for its main roles.

Finally, a healer can keep respec'ing from healing and DPS'ing but this makes no sense, as you should do quests for both items and money, not to pay your respec and let you broke to pay reagents and repairs.

Back in Blizzcon 2007, there had some talk regarding healers getting a bit more of damage, but nothing had been talked again about this.

Can Blizzard states something regarding these changes, ie, what should healers expect to change, what should other clases expect to change (as changing the way a pure healer works directly impacts way DPS works) and when should healers expect to see changes.

As usual, there's a 95% chance people will be posting "QQ more" and similars. These replies are not really useful at all, but feel free to post your feelings, specially if you have both a healer and a DPS class and understand what is this thread about.

Regards.

The plan is for a percentage of the +heal stat on items with pure +heal to be added as +spell damage, for no extra cost. Further details and exceptions will be discussed at a later time.
