S3 Weapons: Rating req to wear or to buy?

I remember a blue post saying that you only need the 1850 (or 2000 for shoulders) rating to buy arena weapons (and you don't need to keep that rating), but the new items say "Requires a personal rating of 1850," suggesting that you need to maintain that personal rating.

Has this been changed, or do you only need the rating to buy the items still?
