New Player Tips is a recurring feature in which we ask World of Warcraft veterans to share their thoughts and advice for new adventurers on a variety of in-game topics.

This week's topic is: "Overcoming the fear of PvP."

Your heart is racing. Your fingers dance over your keyboard, mouse gliding effortlessly across the surface of your desk. Numbers dance across the screen as you Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust! at your opponent. Despite the beating of your heart and the quick motion of your hands, you are at the center of calm. You are the PvP master: renowned gladiator and ruler of the battlefield. But, you may not have started off that way.

Not everyone begins their illustrious PvP career so confident and self-assured. It takes time for the nerves to become focused excitement and to overcome the initial fear of falling to the enemy. But, everyone falls. It's whether you can pick yourself up and persevere against a skilled foe that will prove your mettle.

As part of our ongoing New Player Tips feature, we want to know what tips and advice you can offer to those who are new to the PvP scene.
