There are already plenty of ways to assess someone's ability (or think you can) available to people. But that doesn't mean that someone that has come into the game fairly recent hasn't worked hard to learn and excel at the game. Their date of joining the game, while sometimes indicative of their experiences, doesn't define someone, their knowledge or even if they are using an alternate account.
