Many exciting changes are coming to World of Warcraft with the upcoming Cataclysm expansion, both in-game and out. We're excited to offer you an early look at the new World of Warcraft community site, which will soon become the prime gathering spot and source of information for players on the web. You can read more about the transition from our existing website to the new one in our original announcement: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=27387366608&sid=1

As you’re exploring your future home, keep in mind that this is a live preview, and not all of the new features are ready quite yet. We want your feedback about the look and feel of the new site, so while you're browsing, we encourage you to submit bug reports and make feature requests -- let your voice be heard. Go ahead. Check it out!

We'll be keeping an eye on things here and on the new forums for reports of issues that need to be corrected on the new site. Feel free to let us know here (if you don't have access to the new forums) of the issues you're running into, and we'll do our best to get those reported and to get them corrected.

Could those of you who are having issues logging into the site verify for me that you're using the correct URL?

You should be going to: http://us.battle.net/wow/en

Let me know if you are still having an issue even with using that link and logging into the US site. We believe that some people may have mistakenly been taken to the EU English site and not have realized it.

We currently have no plans to add an Off-Topic forum back into the listing.

Nope, just verified it; to the right of the post box it says "Create Thread - Your posting ability has been disabled."

Any offical word on this? I hope its not working as intended; it seems like an odd policy to change after five years

Thanks for letting me know about this. I'll pass it along and see what we can figure out.

I have Real ID on for in game stuff but do not want my name on forum posts.

Are they off by default or am I screwed? Not going to post over there to test.

Only you see your own name.

One thing I don't seem to see are the current ratings of the posts. Are we supposed to be able to see that right away or do we only see the rating after we've rated the thread ourselves?

Also Neth, are you guys gonna get your own avatars at some point again?? It would be sad if all you get is that blue blizzard board...it's boring. =[

We'll be getting our avatars back soon enough. Don't worry. I believe you won't see the rankings other than to see if you've uprated or downrated it yourself. We just don't show you how many times so that (hopefully) the upranking and downranking aren't gamed.
