Too many Talent points in Destruction
So I noticed while messing with talent specs that I always seemed to end up with 55+ talent points in any destro-centered spec. I went through and counted the possible talent points in each tree and destro came out on top by about 4-5 talent points ( I counted a couple times and could never get the same number...too early in the morning :( ... but I came up with 71 possible points in afflic, 72 for demo, and 75 for destro)

Looking more closely the main problem I could see is improved immolate. This talent is sorta mandatory (maybe less so for a pve spec, although with the new backdraft it's hard to pass up conflag), it's not very good at all, and it's too many points. Affliction also has Shadow Embrace which is 5 points, but this talent is in no way necessary, and you dont have to put all 5 points into it.

Additionally, soul leech and imp soul leech are also point drainers.

To remedy this all or some of the following should be done:

  • Remove the requirement of 5 points in imp immolate for conflag

  • Reduce imp immolate to a max of 3 points

  • Remove the requirement of soul leech for imp soul leech (change the name if need be)

  • Combine soul leech and imp soul leech

  • Change soul leech to be what imp soul leech is, since the regular soul leech is kinda useless

    Q u o t e:
The only problems I see in early-mid Destruction are

Molten Core - What spec is this designed for?

Improved Searing Pain - This talent gets sidelined by Intensity, DR and Improved Immolate. By the time you've maxed Imp Immo and Ruin, the rest of the talents in the tree kick Improved Searing Pain square in the balls.

Improved Immolate - The benefit per point of this talent is very, very weak. The initial damage of Immolate only accounts for 23.5% of the total damage of the spell. Improved Immolate increases the spell's total damage by 5.9%. 5.9% increase for 5 talent points? In Tier 5? Really? Considering you get 10% damage added on to EVERY Fire spell AND a 20% DPS boost to Incinerate for 5 points in the NEXT tier, Improved Immolate is nothing short of pathetic.

Its tier 5, for crying out loud. By the time you reach tier 5, you're officially into the tree because 21 points into one tree means you're sacrificing the 51 point talents of the other two. Improved Immolate needs a LOT more bang for its buck for 5 points in tier 5. DOUBLE the initial damage for 5 talent points would be more reasonable. Not to mention justify Immolate's incredibly steep mana cost when combined with Conflag and the fact that the initial component only gets 20% of your spellpower added on. It would then be a 23.5% increase to the spell's total damage. For 5 talent points in tier 5, I think that's pretty fair.

Molten Core was more designed for Demonology, as that spec you have the freedom to switch between Shadow and Fire, or for more hybrid builds.
