With the upcoming changes to Retribution, the spec and its players have reached a standstill.
Though I believe that these "fixes" are outright nerfs and may begin the next era of "lolret", I want to know why these nerfs were made.
Don't tell me it was because our burst was too high, or did too much healing, or had a 7 second stun on a 20 second CD, or God forbid we have a Bubble every 5min.
I want to know whether these nerfs were made with Retribution's best interest in mind.
Obviously, the reason for the Paladin uproar is because of these nerfs; however, Ret Paladins are also losing their sense of identity at the same time.
When Beta started, we had everything we needed to get the job done. In turn, we went from "lolret" to "Retribution Paladin". We had a purpose in a PvP enviroment, the ability to deal damage and provide decent support.
With the nerf bat heading our way, I think we'll be lucky to accomplish half what we're capable of doing now.
Retribution needs to know, and know soon, what the Developers plan to do with the spec. If we don't know why these nerfs were made, then we cannot provide sufficient feedback.
Are we supposed to be rushing into combat, swinging our weapon at the nearest enemy and bursting them down?
Are we supposed to going into combat with a Warrior, Rogue or Hunter to provide sufficent support for our lack of offensive utility?
Are we supposed to be heading steadily into combat, using Sheath of Light to off-heal our teammates while doing somewhat marginal damage as our allies do the real work?
Or should we lay down our two-handers and accept our purpose as "lolret" for this expansion once again?
We're not mind readers, GC, and right now, the last choice seems to be rearing its ugly head....again.
Please tell us what you and the other developers plan on doing with this spec, its direction, its utility, its damage output, its healing output, its survivability and ability to actually kill something.
Without this information, we're heading down a long, angry, flame-ridden road of Déjà vu. And I for one, am not riding that bandwagon again.
