Everyone thinks they're broken. Everyone thinks everyone else is overpowered. Let's try to be intelligent in our discussions and attempt to be somewhat objective.

I think there is a lot of QQ at the moment, but I also think players are getting used to the idea of a new forum and figuring out how it's going to work.

Usually what happens is the players who say uninformed or dare I say dumb things get ignored or shouted down. Eventually, it's still our hope that we can foster some intelligent discussion about the things that are working and not working in the current class balance.

That is going to take some e.g. mages posting on warrior concerns, and the warriors getting comfortable with that happening.

There is a lot of bad behavior to unlearn, but I remain optimistic. The tanking and healing forums are already off to a good start, in part because those specs are typically not trying to kill each other in PvP settings, in part because they aren't competing quite as much for raid spots, and in part because there are just more specs that do dps.

Plenty of classes come in and talk, it never becomes stupid insults and flames, it runs 7 pages and you pick on a very short rogue thread to direct something at us, something phrased in a way that you can respond without really saying much.

I read every thread in these role forums. I can't possibly respond to them all. Ultimately, the decision on which I repond to is mine. Every player with a post could easily take the attitude that their post is more valid than others around it.

You're going to be disappointed if you only consider threads with a blue in them to be valid. In fact, that just suggests to me I am probably posting too much.

I actually have tried that, but it isn't entirely satisfying to some people. I get a lot of "That's it?" or even the response from the poster above who assumes that because I ask questions that I must not understand the issues. I do understand the issues, believe it or not. Sometimes I ask questions to spur discussion even if I think I know the answer.

This is a new experiment for us, in some ways trying to keep what was good about the beta forums while allowing a much larger group to participate. Things were pretty messy on the first day or so, but they have calmed down (no doubt thanks to some moderators and CMs are doing a lot more work than we all may realize). I have been trying to suggest to players what it is we'd like for these forums to be, perhaps overzealously on occasion, and I realize I risk rewarding the negative posts.

Intelligent responses and the kind of answers players deserve to good questions do take a lot of time though. Scolding someone for petitions takes but a few seconds.
