UPDATE!!! IT HAPPENED!
We played two LVL 10-19 Warsong Gulch games! Thank you to all the Alliance and Horde who queued up for these two awesome battles. And thank you Dresorull for helping to make it happen! :) For those who are wondering, in lvl 10-19 Warsong Gulch, you get approx. 300-400 XP per flag cap in the rested state. I can't remember if the rested state was pushed forward by a flag cap like a quest or not because I couldn't see my own rested state marker, but I think someone else who played knows. I believe there's an additional 300-400 XP bonus upon winning the game, but I forgot to pay attention when we won. I didn't observe any bugs with the granting of XP.
This test of BG Experience has concluded for the night (though you can always try to organize another match, which I've explained in one of my replies). Again, thank you to everybody! :) It was a lot of fun! Below is my original post from earlier today:
I've noticed other threads of people trying to get a level 10-19 Warsong Gulch match going so that we can check out and test what earning experience in Battlegrounds is like. However, it appears that they were unable to get WSG to pop.
UPDATE #2 (6:35 PM ET): Dresorull (Blizzard poster) has posted additional information in http://forums.worldo fwarcraft.com/thread. html?topicId=18704856 267&sid=1. I'll post about it in a reply in this thread.
I'm going to try something different in the hopes of actually getting a level 10-19 Warsong Gulch match going tonight. Here's how it works:
1. If it is between 5 PM Eastern and 11 PM Eastern on July 28, 2009, then please log your level 10-19 character onto either PTR (can be Anasterian or Broxigar) and queue for Warsong Gulch.
2. Leave the game running. Change the sound settings so that you can hear game sounds (including the BG pop sound) when the game is minimized. If it helps, you can play the Live client while the PTR client is running.
3. Reply to this thread with the following information:
- Character name on the PTR
- Level (just a check to make sure everybody is between levels 10-19)
- Which faction? Horde or Alliance?
- Which PTR realm you're queued from (Is it Anasterian or Broxigar?) (From information posted by Dresorull, this is important)
- If possible, how long you're willing or able to wait before giving up if it doesn't pop, including time zone. (Example: I have to give up at 9 PM Central.)
(As a courtesy, if you decide to give up or just need to exit the PTR/queue for whatever reason, edit your post or post another reply indicating this.)
This way, we'll all be able to keep proper count of who's queued. Warsong Gulch requires at least EIGHT Alliance and EIGHT Horde to start. Furthermore, if I understand Dresorull correctly, everybody on the team must be from the same realm (see Dresorull's post for the reason why). So only the following combinations will work:
a. 8-10 Alliance all on Anasterian, 8-10 Horde all on Anasterian
b. 8-10 Alliance all on Broxigar, 8-10 Horde all on Broxigar
c. 8-10 Alliance all on Anasterian, 8-10 Horde all on Broxigar
d. 8-10 Alliance all on Broxigar, 8-10 Horde all on Anasterian
So once you enter WSG, everybody on your team will be from the same PTR realm as you, while the whole opposing faction's team could be from either Anasterian or Broxigar.
4. While you're waiting, keep checking this thread for updates. I'll do my best to keep this thread updated. Every half hour or so, check the PTR client to make sure it hasn't logged you out, and that you're still queued. If it dropped you from the queue due to inactivity, just requeue. You can go do other stuff while waiting patiently; just make sure you are able to hear the "BG popping" sound from where you are.
5. If we meet the 8 Alliance / 8 Horde requirement, but it's still not popping, then we'll try to verify with each other on the forums that we're all still queued. If we're all still queued, then please stay queued while we ask Dresorull to check things out.
Also, if you're an Alliance on Anasterian, you can try whispering me in game to group up, but I might take a while to respond since I'll be doing stuff around my house (but I'll be able to hear if the BG pops.)
