Recent changes to crusader strike have caused the cooldown to be lowered, allowing more frequent casts of the ability.
This has several understandable repricussions, not the least of which would be an increase in damage. However, the goal in this change was not to increase our DPS by a wide margin with this ability, so the damage of CS was lowered to compensate.
However, I believe a gross miscalculation was made. The mana cost hasn't changed, so more frequent casts of this CS is actually having a egative effect on our longevity. We're back in a resource tight situation where casting any defensive spells leads to an OOM state.
I think this was overlooked in design and should be addressed in the next PTR build, to proportionately lower the mana cost so as to provide for no overall shift in our present resource consumption. I feel that ret mana consumption is currently balanced on live servers. I do run out of mana during long fights on the live server, but I'm never bereft of resources as I can usually solve it with divine plea. On the PTR, however, a change of this order of magnitude might also involve me having to churn down mana potions mid-fight in order to stay viable as a damage dealer(something no other melee user is subjected to), or nerf my own DPS in order to put up seal of wisdom (which would consequently result in the dropping-off of my vengance stacks after 3.2)
I plead with you, devs, please lower the mana cost so that our mana consumption doesn't put us back in a place where we're having to manage resources instead of just cooldowns.
