When I was playing with target dummies, I noticed that I wasn't getting the damage I was expecting from my Shield of Righteousness.
It seems that when Heart of the Crusader (or Totem of Wrath) is up I'm getting a 3% holy damage increase (on top of whatever bonus damage I have). However, the tooltip only mentions 3% critical strike chance.
For example, here are some numbers from my level 80 paladin, protection spec with 3/3 One-Handed Weapon Specialization and 3/3 Heart of the Crusader, casting Hand of Reckoning on "Expert's Training Dummy" in Silvermoon (and the only buff on my paladin is Seal of Wisdom):
Hand of Reckoning tooltip damage: 281
Wearing nothing and with no debuffs on the dummy: 281
Wearing nothing with Heart of the Crusader on the dummy: 289 ( = 281*1.03)
Wearing nothing but a Morning Star with no debuffs on the dummy: 309 ( = 281*1.1)
Wearing nothing but a Morning Star with Heart of the Crusader on the dummy: 318 (= 281*1.1*1.03)
I get similar results when using other fixed damage holy spells (like Consecration, Seal of Righteousness, Shield of Righteousness and Hammer of the Righteous). I didn't try to test spells which have a varying amount of damage since it would be too much work. :)
This doesn't appear to affect my physical damage. The dummy appears to have 20% physical damage reduction. Wearing nothing I hit for 65 (~ 81-82 * 0.80) with or without Heart of the Crusader up.
I don't have any other characters on the PTR to test other schools of magic so I don't know if this is limited to holy damage. There was no damage increase when I tested this on a live realm.
I don't mind the extra holy damage, but I haven't seen any mention of this in the PTR patch notes. Is this a feature or a bug? (I'd rather not get a nerf later on if this is a bug).
