Every time I try to run the updater I get an Internet Explorer scripts error and the program freezes. Is there something I can do to remedy this?

Do you have Internet Explorer 7? If not, can you try updated your Internet Explorer to the latest version?

I would advise doing any updates to Internet Explorer that you can, this may be causing the problem that you're seeing.
