Post here for your experience with Flame Leviathan testing on 3/24/09.
<So Jaded> got together to try out the revamped FL boss in Ulduar - 25 man. This was done with all 4 towers destroyed before starting the fight (easy mode).
The new adds were a surprise. The adds damage seemed tuned up, which was needed. We found our sloppy way we previously had dealt with trash (other builds) didn't work as well, and had to use the repair pads.
The mechanics of FL seemed to be different.
1) FL auto overloaded when all four of the turrets were destroyed. This was a nice change since you could (in previous builds) have someone on his back die, and have to change roles of your raid very quickly which meant changing drivers and whatnot in the past to ensure you had some type of DPS up there that could heal. This simplified the fight quite a bit and allows for more room for error.
2) *BUG?* FL targeted other vehicles than the siege engines. We had 5 siege engines which were alive for the entire fight, but after the first 2 'focuses', FL went after catapults time and time again. This didn't seem linked to any range, as we kept the siege engines (since they weren't getting targeted) right behind FL for the remainder of the fight. Around 20%, he targeted a siege engine, then started targeting demolishers again.
We had done the fight before, so we were all pretty comfortable with the vehicles and mechanics. We ended up one-shotting the boss.
